About The Position

The Event Captain is a senior on-site leader responsible for event execution, ensuring every event is delivered with excellence, organization, and professionalism. This role leads service teams in the field, manages service flow, and ensures all aspects of the event align with the Banquet Event Order (BEO), timeline, and 24 Carrots standards. As the primary point of contact for service during events, the Event Captain partners closely with Sales, Culinary, Beverage, and venue or planner contacts to ensure a seamless guest experience. This role requires strong leadership, real-time decision-making, and the ability to maintain composure while managing dynamic event environments.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of related experience in hospitality, catering, events, or related field
  • Proven ability to lead front-of-house event execution from setup through breakdown with a high standard of organization and professionalism
  • Strong working knowledge of BEOs, floor plans, timelines, and service notes, with the ability to translate them into effective event execution
  • Ability to manage and maintain service flows across all phases of an event (cocktail hour, dinner, dessert, late night)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience directing service teams, including assigning workflow, monitoring performance, and ensuring accountability
  • Ability to coach, develop, and provide real-time feedback to team members in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience leading pre-event meetings, team huddles, and post-event follow-up
  • Strong understanding of timekeeping, break compliance, and staff accountability practices
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, planners, vendors, and internal teams
  • Professional, solution-oriented approach to guest service, with the ability to resolve issues in real time
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality control, cleanliness, and consistency
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
  • Ability to perform physical job requirements, including lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and more with assistance
  • Valid California Food Handler’s Card & ServeSafe Allergens Certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts based on event needs
  • Reliable transportation required
