Requirements

  • Knowledge of food and beverage standards
  • Knowledge of banquet space organization and an excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team to reach a common goal
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Possess a current Food Handlers permit and OLCC Server’s Permit
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in banquets, food & beverage, conference services, or a related discipline is required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all banquet service operations and ensure that all banquet service details are executed
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted
  • Confirm and set-up A/V equipment needs for the event
  • Responsible for the training, development and performance of the banquet service staff, including direct supervision of the banquet staff
  • Provide leadership to the staff in the absence of the Banquets & Catering Manager
  • Conduct pre-event meeting with banquet staff to ensure uniforms are clean and presentable and review information pertinent to the event
  • Prepare assignments for staff assigned to each event. Includes assignments for each portion of the work shift; including set-up, event tear-down and side work
  • Act as a contact person for the event host during the event
  • Maintain all equipment and facilities in an organized, clean and safe environment
  • Perform buffet set up and breakdown
  • Check buffet tables/receptions/coffee breaks for cleanliness, attractiveness and layout.
  • Know the menu for each function and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be served. Ensure that all items for event match BEO instructions
  • Use Resort Suite to total all outstanding charges for the function, prepare check or close event in system and present to function contact for payment
