About The Position

The Event Associate, Communications Events (SEASONAL), supports the planning and execution of events of various size and complexity. While based at the Disneyland Resort, this role may involve working on projects supporting other DX Communications Events businesses. The role requires strategic thinking, project management skills and the ability to prioritize. You’ll join a team of high-performing communications and events professionals who exude transformational thinking, creativity, and collaborative partnership.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of event planning experience, managing moderately complex event components or coordinating larger projects.
  • You are creative, nimble, disruptive to the status quo and genuinely optimistic.
  • You offer a fresh perspective and remain laser focused on ROI and relevancy.
  • You have excellent computer skills, including database use/management, and solid understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Google Suite, etc.
  • You possess a good understanding of project/event management methodologies and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • You have the ability to easily learn project management tools and/or software packages.
  • You are proficient in ideation development and operational event management.
  • You have the ability to travel domestically and internationally and work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Guides the planning process for events, cross-functional teams, internal and external, through all phases of events, including conceptualization, planning, budget management, execution and post-event.
  • Develops, assigns and monitors project milestones to cross-functional team; ensure the timely completion of tasks.
  • Tracks event budgets, including managing budget stakeholders and financial reconciliation (including vendor payments, finance forecasting, and accruals).
  • Serves as a conduit for the flow of information with leaders and partners and clearly communicates details surrounding status, key updates and completion of work.
  • Troubleshoots and resolved issues that arise
  • Onboard and trains new team members.
