About The Position

Aeon for Ocean is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to educating and influencing the younger generation to take a leadership role in ocean conservation. Join us as a volunteer and be part of a passionate team that’s creating change by promoting “Kids teaching kids to lead the way in protecting the world’s oceans”. This role requires a motivated and detail-oriented person who will support our ocean conservation initiatives through the planning and execution of virtual and in-person events.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Applicants must also have the ability to attend periodic meetings conducted during regular business hours in the Central Standard (CST) Time Zone.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing tools is preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience with a non-profit organization is preferred
  • Location within the 48 contiguous United States is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a variety of events, including educational workshops, community outreach programs, and virtual events
  • Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, catering, transportation, and accommodations
  • Develop event timelines, checklists, and budgets to ensure successful event execution
  • Liaise with sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community partners to ensure effective collaboration and support for events
  • Cultivate relationships with vendors, contractors, and other service providers
  • Assist in developing marketing materials, including flyers, social media content, email campaigns, and press releases to promote events
  • Assist with the management of event-related social media account and update the organization's website with event information
  • Oversee event setup and breakdown, ensuring all logistics are handled efficiently
  • Provide on-site support during events, including registration, guest assistance, and troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Coordinate and manage event volunteers
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement
  • Prepare and distribute thank-you notes and acknowledgments to sponsors, donors, and participants
  • Assist in compiling event reports and maintaining accurate event records
