About The Position

The Event and Retail Marketing Trainer develops new representatives into confident, effective lead setters. This role leads new hire training and owns the coaching experience during each representative’s first 60 to 90 days. The Trainer becomes an expert in Renewal by Andersen’s lead generation process, models it in the field, and helps representatives apply it consistently at events and retail locations. About half of the role is spent leading classroom training and office coaching; the other half is spent working alongside representatives in the field. This is a hands-on training role with limited administrative work.

Requirements

  • At least two years of high performance in a lead-setting or sales-oriented role, with a demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Strong public speaking and group facilitation skills; able to hold attention, explain a process clearly, and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Strong sales and marketing instincts, including the ability to model customer conversations and coach objection handling in real time.
  • Able to give direct, constructive feedback and translate performance data into practical coaching actions.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheets to review results and track development.
  • Organized, self-directed, and comfortable balancing office instruction with frequent field visits.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience training, coaching, mentoring, or developing others is preferred.
  • Experience in event marketing, retail marketing, in-person prospecting, or home improvement sales is helpful.
  • Outgoing, approachable presence and genuine enthusiasm for helping others improve.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new hire training for Event and Retail Marketing representatives, including product knowledge, the customer approach, lead qualification, appointment setting, and brand standards.
  • Build and follow a practical coaching plan for each new representative’s first 60 to 90 days; adjust support based on observed strengths, skill gaps, and progress.
  • Visit events and retail sites regularly to demonstrate effective conversations, observe representatives in action, give immediate feedback, and practice specific skills alongside them.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions that set clear goals, review performance, and give representatives specific steps to improve.
  • Lead advanced training and refresher sessions for existing representatives on objection handling, customer engagement, appointment quality, and other identified needs.
  • Master and reinforce Renewal by Andersen’s lead-setting policies, qualification standards, and procedures; demonstrate how to meet standards without sacrificing appointment quality.
  • Use lead, appointment, demo, and productivity results alongside field observations to identify coaching priorities and assess training effectiveness.
  • Partner with team leads and the Director of Event and Retail Marketing to share coaching observations, coordinate follow-up, and support consistent training across markets.
  • Create an engaging, supportive learning environment; deliver candid feedback while building representatives’ confidence and accountability.
  • Keep training materials and brief coaching notes current and use Excel or spreadsheets to track representative progress. Administrative work is limited and supports training directly.
  • Representing the company professionally at office training, events, and retail locations; work a schedule that includes field visits during the times representatives are active, including weekends as needed.
