This position is for an Evening School Counselor for the SY 2026-2027. The role involves providing instruction, using assessment data for instructional decisions, and maintaining professional conduct. The counselor will be responsible for student care and supervision, creating a conducive learning environment, observing and evaluating student performance, and managing records. They will also supervise volunteers and paraprofessionals, work effectively with colleagues and administrators, and demonstrate effective classroom management and instructional techniques. The use of relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction is expected, as is timely communication with parents. The position requires compliance with all school laws, regulations, and policies, and attendance at required meetings. The counselor must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in the area of instruction.
