About The Position

EdAdvance is seeking a part-time Evening ESL Teacher for Watertown High School. This role involves providing high-quality English language instruction to adult learners, focusing on English proficiency, workforce readiness, and the achievement of students' educational and personal goals. The position is part of EdAdvance's mission to promote the success of school districts and their communities through a systemic approach grounded in Connection, Culture, and Customization.

Requirements

• CT Certification #088 (Non-English Speaking Adults) is required.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with people from many different backgrounds and cultures.
• Experience teaching adult learners who speak multiple languages.
• Attuned to the specific learning needs of adult students.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction aligned with English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards.
• Create a positive learning environment that is supportive and safe for all learners.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage learners and develop sound foundational skills and transferable speaking & literacy skills.
