About The Position

Assists in the kitchen area prior to, during, and after meals are served to residents. Assists in maintaining kitchen work areas, and keeping equipment, utensils, and food plates clean and orderly.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking the primary language of the elders.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and follow instructions.
• Ability to provide service to elders in a friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes, tableware, glasses, and other kitchen and dining room equipment used in preparing of a meal and assured they are stored in an orderly fashion
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, juice, etc.
• Clean work areas, dining room floor, dining room tables, and dining room chairs after each meal and occasionally after special events.
• Remove garbage from dining room and kitchen and clean trash containers.
• Perform duties in a swift and orderly fashion to accomplish tasks in allotted time but also being mindful of service expectations to accommodate elder requests and preferences.
• Assures work is performed in accordance with all federal, state, and facility regulations regarding sanitation and infection control.
• Attends all in-services as required.
• Perform all other reasonable tasks assigned by your supervisor.
