About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Evening Custodian to join our team at Lybrook Elementary School in Eau Claire. This Part-time position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently while collaborating with other team members.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and procedures.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Flexibility to work evening shifts, including weekends if necessary.
Background check required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing floors and surfaces throughout the school.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for events and activities.
Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or malfunctions to the supervisor.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all.
Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as directed.
Respond to emergency cleaning requests as needed, including spills or accidents.
Collaborate with other custodial staff to ensure efficient workflow and coverage of all areas.
Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay informed about best practices and school policies.
