About The Position

Join the Mackenthu's Team! This role involves accurately processing customer orders at the check out, accepting payments, and providing correct change. You will greet and offer assistance, answer customer questions, and ensure customer purchases are promptly and properly bagged. Additional duties include keeping the cash drawer balanced and organized, assisting with stocking products, facing shelves, and general store maintenance. Cashiers may also assist with selling events and can be cross-trained in Shoppers Assistant (self-check outs), Service Center, and Online Shopping. Other duties may be requested as needed.

Requirements

Minimum Age: 14 years old
Must be at least 16 years old to work past 7 PM, during the school year.
Must express a positive, friendly attitude, focus on customer needs and provide exceptional customer service.
Must be able to work independently and as a team, have solid problem solving skills and excellent decision making capabilities.
Must have an interest in selling food and promoting Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience for customers and coworkers.
Must be willing to learn the characteristics and qualities of the products and services Mackenthun's offers.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must have excellent communication skills including reading, speaking and writing the English language.
Must have basic math skills.
Ability to prioritize and efficiently perform duties; must be accurate, honest and dependable.

Nice To Haves

Prior retail experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Accurately process customer orders at the check out, accept payments, and provide correct change.
Greet and offer assistance, answer customer questions.
Make sure customer's purchases are promptly and properly bagged, this includes bagging groceries as needed.
Keeping the cash drawer balanced and organized.
Assist with stocking products, facing shelves, and general store maintenance (such as, cleaning).
Assist with/conduct selling events.
Cross-train in Shoppers Assistant (self-checks outs), Service Center, and Online Shopping.
Perform all duties in a manner that safeguards company property, resources and image.
Minimize company losses due to poor customer service, inaccurate processing of orders and improper product handling.
