About The Position

This position will assist in the evaluation and monitoring of student-athlete eligibility for competition and practice in the context of Big West Conference and NCAA eligibility criteria. Evaluate student records from other institutions to determine admission eligibility (freshman and transfer) of student-athlete applicants, and as needed to determine the applicability of transfer course work. Furthermore, this position provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to one year of experience related to academic records evaluation required.
  • Experience using a student information system or database, PeopleSoft preferred.
  • Strong analytical and regulatory knowledge to evaluate student records for both athletic eligibility and admissions, ensuring compliance with University, NCAA, Big West Conference, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, and Golden Coast Conference requirements.
  • Experienced in reviewing academic records, calculating progress toward degree completion, assessing transfer coursework, determining admissibility, evaluating residency status, and awarding appropriate credit for examinations, military service, and other non-traditional learning experiences.
  • Highly proficient in student information systems, imaging software, and articulation tools, with the ability to accurately maintain student records and process eligibility determinations for student-athletes and club sports participants.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Responsibilities

  • Assist in compliance evaluation and monitoring regarding student-athlete NCAA eligibility, including calculating progress to degree and reporting any concerns or violations pertaining to NCAA or Big West conference rules.
  • Evaluate student records primarily to determine the admissions eligibility (freshman and transfer) of student-athlete applicants.
  • Interpret and provide evaluation information to all students, academic staff and departments, and other institutions.
