MIGA’s Economics and Sustainability Group (MIGES) consists of several areas of excellence: Economics, Environment and Social, Climate, Gender, and Evaluations. The Evaluation Unit (MIGEV) is seeking an Evaluation Analyst (GE) who is dynamic, proactive, meticulous, and a team player. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills and experience in monitoring and evaluating development outcomes in complex projects in both public and private sectors, with a solid financial and technical background. The Analyst will support MIGA’s self‑evaluation of projects, contribute to the operational effectiveness of MIGA evaluation practices, and assist in coordination with the Independent Evaluation Group (IEG). The Analyst will also support the collection and organization of results data and performance indicators, including those for the WBG Corporate Scorecard FY24–30 and communications on operational results and the distinctive roles of guarantee instruments—emphasizing green, resilient, and inclusive development by mobilizing private capital and working as One World Bank Group. Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Legal, Data Science, or other relevant disciplines, and at least 2 years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Experience conducting or setting up and operating results measurement/M&E platforms and systems for MDBs/DFIs or private sector.
Knowledge of and experience in evaluating or assessing development impact of private and public investment projects in developing countries.
Sound knowledge and experience with WBG Scorecard methodology and the IMPACT framework (familiarity sufficient to support inputs, consistency checks, and indicator tracing).
Strong data management and analytical skills; ability to think strategically, conduct research, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and synthesize diverse results measurement issues.
Sound knowledge of private sector business, contractual, and corporate finance practices and policies.
Knowledge of or exposure to AI/data science/machine learning techniques and tools for analytics.
Results oriented team player with strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills; openness to feedback and new ideas.
Fluency in spoken and written English with excellent report writing and communication skills.
High personal integrity and emotional intelligence; ability to handle sensitive interactions.
Willingness to travel to developing countries for field based evaluation activities; field experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Contribute to MIGA’s self‑evaluation program
Support the self evaluation cycle for MIGA projects: compile evidence packages, clean and analyze data, and draft analytical sections in line with MIGA’s evaluative approach and data standards.
Apply agreed methodologies and incorporate lessons from prior exercises; maintain source traceability and document repositories.
Contribute to efficiency improvements in evaluation processes and tools; flag methodological gaps and propose options for Officer/Manager review.
Assist discussions on the review and update of IEG evaluation methodologies (background preparation, benchmarking, and note taking).
Contribute to Monitoring and Results Reporting at MIGA
Support initiatives to improve efficiency of development data collection systems and processes (e.g., client data workflows and internal curation). (Aligned with DEIS guidance.)
Gather and consolidate inputs for WBG/MIGA Corporate Scorecard (CSC) reporting with appropriate quality checks and reproducibility. (Aligned with Scorecard FY24–30 framework.)
Assist engagement with WBG counterparts to ensure consistent application of Scorecard methodologies.
Support evaluations, audits, mid term reviews, and updates to the Scorecard approach as needed, with a focus on WBG guarantee projects. (Internal process notes on CSC.)
Coordinate with MIGES Economics on the IMPACT (Ex Ante Development Impact Framework) inputs and indicator tracing for guarantees.
Contribute to MIGA’s review of IEG’s evaluation reports and products
Apply professional and evaluation standards to assist validation of IEG’s evaluative work on MIGA (portfolio scans, methods checks, evidence synthesis).
Prepare comparative analyses using appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods; support discussions with operational, legal, and management stakeholders on performance and evaluative judgments.
Coordinate draft comments and feedback to IEG with relevant WBG counterparts; prepare high quality drafts and summaries for Officer/Manager review.
Act as counterpart for IEG’s evaluative activities for MIGA
Track IEG evaluation schedules and proactively facilitate requests for data, documents, and meetings.
Engage with IEG teams to organize underlying data and materials in anticipation of report reviews and recommendation follow up.
Identify lessons from project evaluations, monitoring data, and external evidence; prepare quarterly summaries of salient lessons for MIGA projects.
Draft knowledge assets (briefs, slide decks) and support dissemination, including internal events (e.g., BBLs) led by Officers/Management.
Help create and maintain improved record systems for evaluation reports and related information to be shared within MIGA and across the WBG.
