This course takes place in Year Two of the Bachelor of Education program to engage Teacher Candidates in ongoing professional reflective practice, inquiry, and collaboration. Teacher Candidates meet to share questions and reflections emerging from their professional practice, to engage in collaborative inquiry and problem solving, and to construct professional knowledge as a community of learners. The course supports a Teacher Candidate’s "transition to practice" (e.g., resume-writing, interview skills, supply teaching). The successful candidate will be given course outline of assignment and topics to provide consistency across sections. The successful candidate will serve as the Faculty Advisor to provide consultation and support to Teacher Candidates during the practicum. They will conduct virtual check-ins during scheduled practicum. PLS instructors will also liaise with the Placement Officer to resolve issues related to the practicum. The successful candidate will work with the course lead and/or team in order to provide consistency across sections.
