About The Position

ETS is seeking an Operations Lead to manage the day-to-day activities of a hybrid technical workforce across Sound, Lighting, and Video Production. This critical leadership role reports to the AVP of ETS and is responsible for maintaining the team’s stability, performance, and culture. The Lead ensures optimized workflows and consistent service standards for University events, acting as a vital bridge between ETS and the broader University community. This role cultivates strong partnerships, manages complex logistics, and ensures operational readiness for event support of all sizes. By providing direct coaching and technical leadership, the Operations Lead ensures seamless continuity and prevents disruption to essential workflows.

Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of multifaceted technical support and labor management of events and projects involving Sound, Lighting, and Video Production.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate the day-to-day activities of the technical workforce across sound, lighting, and video disciplines.
• Optimize workflows, balance resources, and ensure the team consistently meets deadlines and event service standards.
• Manage a hybrid workforce, overseeing both full-time staff and freelance technicians.
• Ensure the ETS team maintains agility for variable workloads, scheduling, and rapid-response scenarios.
• Cultivate strong partnerships with departments, full-time and freelance technicians, and University-sponsored events.
• Ensure appropriate staffing, coordinated logistics, and full operational readiness for events of all sizes.
• Contribute to fostering a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture through direct engagement, coaching, and communication.
• Maintain morale, promote team cohesion, and retention, embodying ETS values.
