About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile ETO Design Engineer to join our Custom Design Engineering Group in our Engineer-to-Order (ETO) factory. This role is critical in supporting custom product design, prototyping, and production readiness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate across design, production, and quality teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or custom design environment.
Strong understanding of BOM structures and ERP systems.
Engineer-to-order (ETO) process experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with other CAD tools such as Creo are a plus.
Hands-on experience with prototype assembly and testing.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Knowledge with UL requirements as they pertain to design build of electrical equipment.
Familiar with production floor tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, mechanical instruments)

Responsibilities

Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Review and scrub BOMs for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability. Ensure alignment between design specifications and production requirements.
Design & Documentation: Create and update detailed AutoCAD drawings and engineering documentation. Support design modifications for custom projects and ensure compliance with standards.
Prototype Development: Lead and assist in prototype builds, ensuring functionality and design integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and optimize designs. Create working relationships Work with UL representatives.
Testing & Quality Support: Participate in product testing and validation activities. Provide technical assistance to the Quality Assurance team for inspections and compliance.
Creation of part specifications
