About The Position

We are seeking an experienced ETL / Power BI Engineer with a strong background in data engineering, ETL development, and BI engineering. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Power BI and AI/ML technologies. This role involves leveraging agentic AI tools like Claude Code for data engineering tasks, including code generation, testing, refactoring, and documentation. You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and implementing data governance and security measures within our analytics platforms.

Requirements

• 7-10+ years in data engineering, ETL development, BI engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI.
• Expertise in SQL (complex queries, optimization, window functions).
• Expertise in DAX (measures, calculated columns, time intelligence, performance tuning).
• Expertise in data modeling (star/snowflake schemas, semantic layers).
• Solid experience building ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments (Azure: ADF, Databricks, Synapse; or AWS/GCP equivalents).
• Proficiency in Python and/or Spark for data transformation and automation.
• Hands-on experience using Claude Code (or similar agentic IDEs) for real data engineering tasks: generating code, tests, refactors, and documentation.
• Familiarity with agentic patterns: skills, prompts, MCP connectors, and integrating AI agents into CI/CD or data workflows.
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and security in analytics platforms (RLS, workspace roles, deployment pipelines).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with dbt, Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, or Fabric.
• Exposure to Power BI agent skills / Skills for Fabric or similar AI-assisted report-building capabilities.
• Background in knowledge graphs / ontologies or advanced metadata management.
• Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) certification.
• Microsoft DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) certification.
• Databricks certification.
• Cloud data engineering certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, including optimization and window functions.
• Create and tune DAX measures, calculated columns, and time intelligence functions in Power BI.
• Design and implement data models using star/snowflake schemas and semantic layers.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments such as Azure (ADF, Databricks, Synapse) or equivalent AWS/GCP services.
• Utilize Python and/or Spark for data transformation and automation.
• Apply Claude Code (or similar agentic IDEs) to generate code, tests, refactors, and documentation for data engineering tasks.
• Integrate AI agents into CI/CD pipelines or data workflows.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security within analytics platforms, including implementing RLS, workspace roles, and deployment pipelines.
