The ETL Lead will own end-to-end operational support for the existing data stack, ensuring the success of day-to-day production operations. This role involves monitoring daily ETL loads, troubleshooting pipeline failures and performance issues, ensuring SLA adherence, and providing direction for ETL maintenance. The lead will also be responsible for refactoring or retiring outdated ETL processes and maintaining/improving existing pipelines. Additionally, the role involves technical leadership, guiding developers, reviewing code, and mentoring junior engineers. The ETL Tech Lead will become the steady-state technical owner of the entire data operations layer during the Canal modernization journey. This includes developing reusable ingestion patterns, modernizing existing ETL workloads using Delta Lake, Medallion Architecture, and Fabric Lakehouse, and building scalable data ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory, MS Fabric, Databricks, and Synapse Pipelines. Experience with real-time data pipelines using Event Hub, Fabric Real-Time Analytics, Databricks Structured Streaming, and KQL-based event processing is crucial. The role also requires leadership in modern Azure data stack technologies, including implementing Medallion Architecture, leveraging Delta tables, building ingestion and transformation pipelines, and enabling real-time analytics. Data modeling, curation, governance, and preparing ML-ready datasets are also key aspects of this position.
