About The Position

RCT is seeking a senior ETL Engineer / Applications Developer to design, build, and optimize large-scale data pipelines and cloud-based analytics solutions supporting mission-critical environments. The role combines data engineering, cloud architecture, search/discovery systems, and technical leadership within an Agile development environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • 6–8 years of: Linux administration and large-scale data processing.
  • Object-oriented programming ( Python preferred ).
  • AWS or C2S cloud environments (other cloud platforms considered with sufficient experience).
  • AWS services including EC2.
  • 4–6 years of ETL experience with large datasets using tools such as: Informatica Talend SSIS AWS Glue Azure Data Factory
  • Strong SQL and query optimization skills.
  • Experience with: Data warehousing and data modeling
  • Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting
  • Relational and NoSQL databases
  • Git version control

Nice To Haves

  • Big data technologies ( Spark, Hadoop, Databricks ).
  • NLP and transformer models (e.g., BERT ).
  • Search technologies ( Elasticsearch, Solr, Lucene ).
  • Document exploitation, e-discovery, and multi-modal analytics (OCR/image recognition).
  • Docker, CI/CD, DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Cloudera or similar big data certifications.
  • Experience with anomaly detection, predictive analytics, or risk scoring.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured datasets (GB–TB scale).
  • Build data ingestion and integration solutions across enterprise systems.
  • Develop and optimize search and discovery platforms.
  • Ensure data quality, validation, performance, and reliability.
  • Build secure, cloud-native solutions in AWS/C2S environments.
  • Translate mission requirements into technical architectures and implementation roadmaps.
  • Deliver dashboards, visualizations, and executive-level briefings.
  • Lead development efforts through code reviews, mentoring, deployment, accreditation, and sustainment.
  • Support data governance, security, and classified environment compliance.
