ETL/BI Application Engineer - Informatica/Cognos
About The Position
This is not a development role, although the ETL/BI Application Engineer may collaborate with developers. The position installs and maintains Cognos and Informatica throughout the life cycle of operating environments for multiple clients. Duties also include optimizing performance, installing updates, and applying vulnerability fixes. The role requires excellent communication skills, self-motivation, discipline, and a solid work ethic. The engineer works on a team that supports other clients and technologies, including Forgerock, Business Objects v4.3 in a clustered configuration, and Tableau. Experience with any of these technologies is a plus. The role may require work outside business hours to implement projects or system changes.
Requirements
- Discipline and integrity to work with US-based teams and communicate effectively.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Cognos v11 and v12 and Informatica Power Center v10.x, IDMC, and CDI-PC on Linux.
- Experience configuring authentication with LDAP, Active Directory, and SSO.
- Experience managing Cognos servers, gateways, dispatchers, and content store databases.
- Experience deploying and migrating Cognos reports and Informatica code across environments.
- Experience troubleshooting report failures, server issues, and production issues and coordinating with development teams.
- Experience tuning and optimizing ETL jobs.
- Experience managing backups, recovery, and migration between DEV, QA, and PROD environments.
- Experience implementing high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ability to create and edit published system documentation.
- Willingness to perform duties as assigned and adopt additional technologies as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience with Forgerock.

Responsibilities
- Install, configure, update, optimize, monitor, and troubleshoot Informatica and Cognos applications in large MMIS operating environments.
- Collaborate with other teams on deliverables.
- Respond to tickets and inquiries within the expected time.
- Provide timely correspondence on actions and status, and attend meetings.
- Perform company administrative activities as required, including mandatory training, timekeeping, goal and performance activities, and compliance with policies, processes, and procedures.
- Work outside business hours when needed to implement projects or system changes.
- Configure authentication using LDAP, Active Directory, and SSO.
- Manage Cognos servers, gateways, dispatchers, and content store databases.
