About The Position

The ETL Analyst will serve a key role in designing, maintaining, and implementing data environment within Truist. This role will work closely with the technology delivery group and other cross-functional groups within Truist. The Analyst must be able to configure, connect and design data coming from different sources to be used for dashboards for the wider groups within Truist and at the enterprise level. Success in the position requires strong, clear communication skills, an understanding of the application's current design, and a clear understanding of Tableau and the visualization framework. This position is based onsite in Charlotte, NC, with an expectation to work in the office five days per week. Please note that Truist does not sponsor work visas for this role. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship, now or at any point in the future.

Requirements

  • Complete understanding of entire ETL lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience using Alteryx Designer
  • Hands-on experience in writing complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation from organization datamart/datalake.
  • Hands on experience in connecting SQL database to visualization tool (Tableau) for dashboarding.
  • Hands on experience using Tableau for data visualization.
  • Hands on experience with SQL joins, Indexing and data relationships across data architecture.
  • Hands on experience with API implementation and connecting as direct data source to visualization tool (Tableau)
  • Hands on experience with Python as scripting language to perform data analysis.
  • Performs data profiling and data analysis to assist in understanding the data.
  • Optimizes data models through normalization, table analysis and review of queries.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining database documentation
  • Implementing and maintaining database security measures
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least three years of experience or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience and a degree in a technical field or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Must have proven experience as ETL / Alteryx Developer or similar role
  • Must have proven experience as a SQL Developer or similar role.
  • Able to work in a manual data analytics environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas, regardless of the technical capacity of the audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking

Nice To Haves

  • Nice to have experience with Python scripting language
  • Familiarity with database tools for schema design, data modeling, and version control.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and managing large data sets.
  • Understanding of Business Intelligence and Business Intelligence software packages
  • Experience with Informatica.
  • Background in banking and general banking systems
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Analysis System (SAS) and other analytic tool

Responsibilities

  • Gathers, reviews, analyzes, profiles, validates and maps system data into the data warehouse to meet reporting and analytical business needs.
  • Performs data analysis and troubleshooting on data-related issues reported by production support and other teams.
  • Develops solutions and recommendations for improving data integrity issues. Analyzes data issues and works with development teams for problem resolutions. Identifies problematic areas and conducts research to determine the best course of action to correct the data, identify, analyze and interpret trends and patterns in complex datasets.
  • Determines and analyzes line of business requirements, use system data, and provide input needed by various departments and senior management to produce business reports.
  • Works with extract, transform and load (ETL) developers to test and validate data attributes and with other business analysts to ensure data is integrated consistently, regardless of the source system.
  • Works with business analysts and project teams to provide accurate documentation of data related project and support deliverables. And with source system business analysts to understand system nuances and resolve data issues. Takes ownership of issues through resolution including close coordination between business analysts.
  • Creates data quality metrics and scorecards. Performs regular audits of data. Understands data governance principles and how they apply.
  • May instruct, direct, and mentor other members of the team.
