About The Position

The DH Pace Company, Inc. is seeking to hire an Estimator to join our team in our Olathe, KS office! With minimal supervision, the estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive bids for commercial industrial door and loading dock systems. They will work to support our sales staff, resulting in profitable sales and positive customer relationships. Knowledge and/or experience in the construction or building materials industry is strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Experience with blueprints/plans and Specs highly desired
  • Must have strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills, and excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively while sustaining individual and team workloads
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Possess strong language, written, and mathematical skills
  • Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and/or experience in the construction or building materials industry is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Rapidly develops or possess advanced level skills at using DH Pace estimating processes and procedures and utilizing DH Pace estimating software as well as other business software programs. (Excel, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, IFS, SAM, etc.)
  • Rapidly develops or possesses advanced level knowledge of door and dock related products, understanding functionality, special features, usage options as well as pricing variance based on specific job needs
  • Rapidly develops understanding of core product lines, vendors, and labor standards
  • Educates sales team on product options and assist customers in product selection to ensure sale and best project outcome
  • Perform effective quote request review, scope creation, material list, and product selections to generate accurate project cost estimates and bids
  • Estimates advanced and complex projects of limited project size, writing all proposals clearly and concisely for review and approval by manager prior to customer's review
  • Promote and maintain a positive attitude toward outside contractors, architects and individuals within the company regardless of the circumstances
  • Understand vendor relationships and build strong relationships with contacts
  • Meet or exceed annual estimating volume expectations as warranted based on experience level or length of time in the position
  • Ability to manage time effectively while sustaining individual and team workloads
