This position involves working with employees, clients, specifying engineers, and vendors, and managing an estimate from beginning to end. The role reports to management within the estimating department and will manage an existing estimating assistant employee. The primary focus is on performing quantity takeoff surveys, attending pre-bid meetings, and providing detailed information for finalizing estimates and proposals. The Estimator will analyze requests for proposals, plans, amendments, and other documentation to determine scope of work and establish costs, preparation time, schedules, materials, design, and labor estimates. They will also consult with clients, vendors, and construction team members to formulate estimates and resolve problems, maintain the company directory of manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors, and coordinate efforts with project managers to develop work crews and production rates. Additionally, the role supports Valcourt's safety program and manages communication regarding active estimates and opportunities.
