About The Position
Learn the Whole Estimate. Not Just One Piece of It. Ready to start your construction career somewhere you can learn the entire estimating process? At Williams Company, our Estimators aren't limited to one trade or one piece of an estimate. You'll gain experience across all major construction trades while learning how to take a commercial construction estimate from plans and specifications through pricing, bid day, and turnover to Operations. You'll work alongside experienced Estimating and Preconstruction professionals who will help you develop the technical knowledge, judgment, and confidence to take on complete estimates and projects of increasing complexity.
Requirements
- Curious, analytical, detail-oriented, and ready to learn.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but we'll consider a combination of education and relevant construction experience.
Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Performing quantity takeoffs and developing pricing across major construction trades.
- Building conceptual, preliminary, negotiated, and detailed estimates.
- Developing subcontractor bid coverage and communicating with trade partners.
- Analyzing proposals, comparing pricing, and identifying scope gaps.
- Understanding general conditions, contingencies, fees, logistics, phasing, procurement, and project risk.
- Participating in bid day and helping bring a complete estimate across the finish line.
- Working with Operations to turn a successful estimate into an executable construction project.
