About The Position
Feyen Zylstra is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support its Carolina locations, based in the Charleston office. The role prepares detailed quantity take-offs and project estimates, collaborating closely with Field Operations, Purchasing, Leadership, and Project Managers to produce accurate and complete estimates. The estimator gathers information through activities such as jobsite walk-throughs, vendor calls, and review meetings; analyzes bid documents, scopes, costs, and vendor quotes; and ensures customer-facing documents are accurate and professional and deadlines are met. The role also involves tracking project data and progress, maintaining dashboards, communicating relevant information, and assessing risk through established processes and standards. Regional travel to project sites may be needed. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience estimating electrical construction projects valued over $3 million.
- Experience estimating large commercial and industrial projects.
- Proficiency in Accubid estimating.
- Ability to prepare conceptual budgets based on minimal information and specifications.
- Ability to travel regionally to project sites as needed.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and project estimates.

- Gather information through jobsite walk-throughs, calls to vendors, and review meetings.
- Analyze bid documents and scope of work, material and labor cost fluctuations, and vendor quotes.
- Prepare professional, error-free customer documents and meet deadlines.
- Document and track project data, maintain dashboards, measure progress and results, and communicate pertinent information.
- Apply processes, standards, and early risk assessment to mitigate problems.
- Travel regionally to project sites as needed.
