About The Position

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking an Estimator who will provide complete and accurate cost estimates that impact business decisions. Partners with other internal departments to estimate costs and profit for complex specifications/projects. Evaluates effectiveness of pricing strategies and modifies pricing structures as needed. Ensures that cost development policies and procedures are in compliance with government laws, regulations and management objectives. Come and join the Applied Composites team. Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Management or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
  • 3 - 7 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of composites materials and manufacturing processes highly preferred
  • Strong estimating experience and ability to perform complex analysis
  • Previous experience with CAD highly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering models and drawings
  • Able to meet multiple and/or conflicting deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion, excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Develops detailed project cost estimates including project complexity factors and key input data such as project objectives, scope and economic analysis
  • Translates the identified project scope and engineering deliverables into the estimate of capital expenditure costs
  • Creates and establishes cost-monitoring processes that allow the company to track profit or loss for each project
  • Manages reviews and audits of cost estimates, formulates, and validate methodologies for deriving quantities from design parameters
  • Extrapolates cost curves based on firsthand experience of scheduled activities/cost correlation analysis
  • Ensures that cost development policies and procedures are in compliance with government laws, regulations and management objectives
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
