About The Position

Value Added Distributors is looking for a driven, hardworking, and enthusiastic Estimator to join a team of experts at our Chambersburg, PA location. This position reports to the Quote Cell Coordinator and will assist in the day-to-day quoting of customer projects. For 25 years, Value Added Distributors, and our family of companies have been a leading provider of hydraulic components in the industrial marketplace. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to type 35+ wpm

Nice To Haves

• One year of equivalent skill application in estimating and analyzing industrial manufacturing projects is a plus.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis is preferred.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project scope: Review customer blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand all project requirements. Understand the internal business structure to ensure the right facility is on track for completing projects.
• Calculate costs: Determine the costs of materials, labor, equipment, and other resources needed for the project. Update customer price lists. Setup parts and kits.
• Create documents: Prepare detailed, accurate estimates and proposals for clients and senior management.
• Monitor project costs: track project expenses against the initial forecast to ensure the project stays within budget.
• Assess risks: Evaluate potential risks and consider health and safety requirements as part of the cost analysis.
