About The Position

O’Hanlon Paving, a proud member of The Fath Group of Companies, has been a key player in the Edmonton, road construction industry for over 70 years. We are looking to hire an Estimator/Project Coordinator to join our Sales & Engineering team. This is a permanent-full-time position based at our head office, located in Edmonton. The Estimator/Project Coordinator must be able to align with the company’s core values: Commitment, Attitude and Respect.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualification of a Civil or Construction Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent from a recognized institution is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, Google Workspace applications is required.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract are required.
  • Must have proven ability to be self-motivated and be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.
  • Ability to work long hours/some weekends during the busy summer/fall season is required.
  • Must possess strong organization skills, strong attention to details and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work well independently as well as in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years Estimator/Project Coordinator experience is highly desirable; however we will consider less experienced applicants.
  • Estimating experience with capability of using Heavy Bid or equivalent system is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and track estimates, budgets, and proposals, ensuring all submissions are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, consultants, and clients while supporting project managers with administrative tasks throughout the project duration.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs, construct preliminary schedules and assist with technical proposals.
  • Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for accurate estimating and project management.
  • Attend and participate in onsite meetings with clients, owners, representatives, staff and contractors.
  • Assist with project site measurements.
  • Monitor construction bidding platforms to identify and evaluate project opportunities that align with our product lines and strategic goals.
