COMPENSATION RANGE Pay Range: $30.00 plus commission JOB SUMMARY Since 1970, Great Floors has grown into a thriving organization with retail, commercial, and builder showrooms positioned across the Pacific Northwest. Great Floors is a subsidiary of Artisan Design Group. The Flooring Estimator plays a critical role in supporting project planning and execution by ensuring accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for flooring projects. This position works closely with internal teams and vendors to gather project details, analyze specifications, and deliver timely and accurate proposals. Success in this role means estimates are completed accurately and on time, project requirements are clearly understood, and materials are aligned to support operational and customer expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic estimating tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in flooring, construction, or building materials estimation.
  • Familiarity with estimating software or project management systems.
  • Experience working with vendor pricing or procurement processes.
  • Experience in flooring estimation is helpful but not required. We are willing to train candidates who demonstrate strong attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for flooring projects based on plans, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, bid documents, and project revisions to ensure estimates reflect current project scope.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing and ensure estimates are aligned with current material costs.
  • Develop and maintain estimating templates to support consistency and efficiency across projects
  • Utilize estimating software and Microsoft Excel to generate proposals and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor and respond to estimate requests, ensuring timely delivery of proposals to support project timelines.
  • Manage multiple estimating assignments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to clarify project requirements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized documentation for all estimates, including revisions and change orders.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including safety and compliance standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
