Estimator in Civil Landscape Construction
About The Position

As our civil division continues to grow, we are seeking a Senior Civil Construction Estimator to lead complex tenders while playing a key role in project planning and execution. This is an opportunity to take ownership of high-impact projects and work closely with operations to help ensure successful delivery. This is not a Project Manager role. Estimating remains the core focus, but the position offers meaningful involvement in planning, coordination, and project readiness.
Requirements
- 7+ years of civil construction estimating experience
- Proven ability to lead complex bids independently
- Strong experience with municipal or public tendering environments
- Background in civil infrastructure, site development, or parks projects
- Proficiency with HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of project planning, cost control, and risk management
- Excellent communication, organization, and coordination skills
- Experience working closely with both estimating and operations teams
Nice To Haves
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field is an asset
Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle tender submissions for civil projects including parks and recreation developments, pathways and trail systems, pedestrian bridges, and municipal civil infrastructure.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents in detail.
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and bid submissions.
- Coordinate pricing with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and pre-construction coordination.
- Ensure smooth handoffs from estimating to operations teams.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and leadership.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators.
