About The Position
A growing heavy civil contractor specializing in mining and geotechnical construction is seeking an Estimator to join their team in the Denver area. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their estimating career who wants to grow with an established contractor working on complex infrastructure and underground projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of estimating experience in mining, geotechnical, or heavy civil construction
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates for mining, geotechnical, and heavy civil construction projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
- Assist in preparing complete bid packages and proposals
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams
- Support budgeting and cost analysis throughout the preconstruction phase
