About The Position

This role is responsible for responding to RFQs (Requests for Quotation) quickly and accurately, ensuring deadlines are met or beaten. The Estimator will partner closely with Sales, Engineering, and Supply Chain to gather all necessary technical and commercial details for quotes. Key responsibilities include preparing and organizing documentation for Quote Review sessions, obtaining and evaluating external supplier quotes for competitive pricing, and scheduling/facilitating Quote Reviews with senior leadership, ensuring follow-up actions are completed. The role also involves finalizing and entering quotes into the system, communicating results to customers ahead of deadlines, maintaining the quotes database, and monitoring/reporting on jobs won and lost. The Estimator will analyze win/loss trends to refine the quoting process and share updates on new customers and projects across the organization. Additionally, the role requires using market intelligence and internal financial data to create quotes that are both competitive and profitable, understanding internal financial resources, and applying this data when quoting.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to manage multiple RFQs under tight timelines.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-department collaboration.
  • Experience in quoting, estimating, or related roles within manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain.
  • Analytical skills to interpret market trends and financial data for strategic pricing.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to write professionally for multiple outlets that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Visio).
  • Experience with ERP system.
  • 4+ years in a similar role within CNC/precision manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in print interpretation, quality systems and ISO/relevant standards.
  • Previous customer service experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience with CAD software preferred.
