About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for commercial interior construction projects involving drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and commercial flooring. The Estimator will manage the bidding process from invitation through project handoff, including reviewing construction documents, completing detailed quantity takeoffs, obtaining vendor and subcontractor pricing, and preparing complete cost proposals. The ideal candidate has strong commercial interior construction estimating experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior trades.
  • Commercial interior construction estimating experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and interior building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
  • Proven experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and preparing complete bid proposals.
  • Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar platforms.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling, and flooring projects.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project scope.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, project risks, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Prepare bid proposals, scope summaries, clarifications, and pricing documentation.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, field teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients throughout the estimating process.
  • Maintain historical pricing, estimating databases, bid records, and project documentation.
  • Support project turnover by providing estimate breakdowns, scope reviews, and pricing assumptions to operations.
  • Participate in post-bid reviews and help improve estimating processes and accuracy.
  • Assist with conceptual budgets, negotiated bids, and other pricing opportunities as needed.
