About The Position

Ellsworth Adhesives, a global leader in specialty chemicals and equipment distribution and adhesive manufacturing, is seeking an Estimating Manager for its TapeCase division. TapeCase specializes in designing, converting, manufacturing, and distributing highly engineered adhesive tape products, offering custom tape solutions through extensive converting services. This role is crucial for leading and developing the estimating function, ensuring accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for OEM and general converting opportunities, with a focus on gasket and die-cut applications. The manager will oversee estimating operations, pricing strategy, and margin performance, aligning commercial goals with manufacturing capabilities. This is an on-site/hybrid role located in Elk Grove Village, IL, reporting into Tape Case, LLC, an Ellsworth Corporation company.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in estimating, quoting, engineering, or related role required.
Must be able to work with ITAR controlled data.
Proficient in Excel and estimating tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
Working knowledge of manufacturing cost structures (material yield, labor standards, machine rates, tooling).
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive process improvements.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

3+ years of management or people leadership experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience with cost modeling, pricing, and margin management preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Technical and Senior Technical Estimators, including hiring, performance management, and capability development.
Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of cost estimates to ensure accuracy across materials, labor, routing, tooling, overhead, manufacturability, and margin targets.
Execute pricing and margin strategies that balance competitiveness, profitability, and growth across OEM and general converting work.
Review complex or high-value opportunities and provide direction on materials, processes, tooling, and key cost drivers.
Ensure integrity and accuracy of estimating data within ERP systems, including BOMs, routings, and item master data.
