About The Position

Nucor Rebar Fabrication Northeast is seeking an Estimating Lead for their Plainville, CT location. This leadership role involves supervising a branch estimating team, prioritizing work, allocating resources, and implementing best practices aligned with division goals. The position requires a strong understanding of safety programs, Nucor's vision and values, and the CRSI Manual of Standard Practice. The Estimating Lead will guide the team to achieve enterprise and division goals, foster a safety culture, and provide industry-leading service. Key responsibilities include assigning estimating work, overseeing accuracy and quality, managing resources across the division, and mentoring team members through feedback, coaching, and training. Performance reviews may also be conducted. Safety is paramount, and candidates must demonstrate the ability to uphold safety policies and standards.

Requirements

Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Knowledge of concrete structures, CRSI/ACI standards.
Ability to track plan revisions/bid updates against previous work.
Good communication and computer skills.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings such as structural, architectural and civil drawings to assist in the assessment and estimating of the project, understand project scope and bidding strategy.
Ability to meet critical deadlines and handle changing priorities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s safety programs and standards.
Demonstrate leadership consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values.
Ensure alignment with the division’s processes, best practices, and market differences, possessing a thorough knowledge of the CRSI Manual of Standard Practice.
Lead branch estimating team to achieve enterprise and division goals, including safety culture and culture of continuous improvement and growth.
Provide industry leading service and communication that differentiates Nucor Rebar Fabrication from the competition.
Assign all estimating work to the appropriate branch estimating teammates so that sales has the information required to intelligently bid each project based on our customer’s expectations.
Oversee the accuracy, quality, productivity, and timeliness of the branch estimating team and all 3rd party resources.
Communicate with the Estimating Supervisor and other Estimating Leads to manage and balance estimating resources across the division to support sales leadership’s strategy and initiatives.
Mentor branch estimating teammates and provide appropriate performance feedback, coaching, and training required to build their commercial acumen.
Perform or assist in periodic performance reviews of the branch estimating team.
Perform other duties as requested by the Estimating Supervisor.
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
