About The Position

The Estimating Analyst seeks to understand customer needs and apply expertise to define required services, research and develop accurate engineered cost solutions, and design efficient production processes at the site level. This role ensures alignment with customer expectations, supports Crescent’s business objectives, and contributes to the growth and development of our people.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Packaging Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
  • Strong understanding of packaging design, assembly, and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Safety: Read and understand the Crescent Safety Playbook – Doing It Safe. Follow and reinforce safety practices to maintain a safe work environment at the assigned site. Incorporate safe practices into line layouts and Engineered Line Drawings (ELDs). Participate in site Safety Committee activities and help promote a Safety-First culture.
  • People: Support Crescent talent selection, development, and recognition processes within the assigned site. Provide training and coaching to site personnel as it relates to estimating standards and processes. Assist with Training Programs during new start-ups by helping define work standards. Promote a culture where Crescent People feel valued, engaged, and supported. Escalate areas of conflict or underperformance to leadership for resolution.
  • Productivity: Apply Crescent’s culture of Doing It Right, Doing It Safe, Doing It Well in estimating activities. Research customer requirements, packaging history, and production data to prepare accurate estimates. Support business development by preparing price models, production line layouts, and cost models for assigned customers. Conduct time studies to validate labor assumptions and recommend adjustments as needed. Review site production history and packaging insights to align estimates with customer needs. Develop basic packaging engineering specifications for cost modeling and production use. Partner with Cross-Functional Teams to ensure labor estimates align with staffing needs and production schedules. Collaborate with site leadership to suggest line improvements that enhance competitiveness. Perform other duties as assigned, including training backups for coverage and succession planning.
  • Quality: Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives by incorporating quality standards into estimating practices. Track and report site-level KPIs related to estimating and cost performance. Participate in New Build Meetings to confirm that assembly steps and staffing align with estimates. Analyze customer-provided specifications to prepare accurate cost models. Gather input from Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and People groups to validate estimates. Collect and analyze site production data to generate Engineered Line Drawings (ELDs). Collaborate with Finance and Commercial Operations to align estimates with sourcing strategies.
  • Customer Value: Support continuous improvement by analyzing assembly steps and cycle times for cost efficiency. Build trust with assigned customers through transparent estimating practices. Partner with site leadership to ensure cost and performance issues are addressed collaboratively. Work with local suppliers and vendors to identify site-level cost savings opportunities.
  • Financial: Investigate underperforming programs at the site to improve future estimates. Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency. Align labor and production resources with customer demand and site goals. Ensure accurate estimating of Crescent-owned material and supply consumption.
