About The Position

Douglas J is a leader in beauty education with over 55 years of experience. They are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspiring Esthiology Educator to teach and mentor evening students. Douglas J offers paid training, mentorship, and guidance to help candidates meet state requirements for becoming a licensed instructor, so prior educator licensure is not required. The role involves educating students in skincare theory, treatments, techniques, products, and professional practices, while fostering an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. The educator will also demonstrate and reinforce proper sanitation, safety, and infection-control practices, evaluate student work, and stay current on industry trends. Maintaining a professional classroom, modeling ethical standards, managing classroom activities, and ensuring students adhere to school policies and regulations are key aspects of the position. The educator will provide constructive coaching, serve as a positive role model, and inspire students as they begin their careers.

Requirements

Licensed Esthetician with hands-on industry experience
At least 2 years of experience working in skincare
Availability to work evenings and some weekends
Passion for skincare, beauty, education, and professional development
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to demonstrate and explain techniques clearly
Patient, encouraging, and supportive teaching style
Organized and dependable with strong time-management skills
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
Comfortable working with students of varying experience levels
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional school environment

Nice To Haves

Previous teaching or training experience is a plus, but not required
Experience working with Eminence, PCA, Sugarlash, Dulcelash, and/or Muse Beauty is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Teach assigned esthiology classes under the guidance of the Education Coach and Program Team Lead.
Educate students in skincare theory, treatments, techniques, products, and professional practices.
Create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to learn, grow, and build confidence.
Demonstrate proper sanitation, safety, and infection-control practices.
Monitor and reinforce student sanitation and safety standards throughout the school day.
Evaluate student work and provide timely, meaningful feedback that supports continued growth.
Stay current on esthetics trends, skincare innovations, products, techniques, and evolving industry standards.
Maintain a professional classroom environment and model the ethical standards and professionalism expected in the beauty industry.
Manage classroom activities effectively while fostering a positive and productive learning experience.
Ensure students understand and follow school policies, procedures, and applicable state regulations.
Provide constructive coaching and encouragement to help students develop both technical skills and professional confidence.
Serve as a positive role model, mentor, and source of inspiration for students beginning their careers in esthetics.
