About The Position

Goldman Sachs Wealth Management is seeking an Estate Settlement Services Advisor to join their team in Albany. This role supports advisors and clients through the estate and trust settlement process, requiring attention to detail, strong communication, and problem-solving skills. The Estate Settlement Services (ESS) team provides education, training, and guidance to advisor teams to help them efficiently navigate the process of settling client estates and trusts. ESS team members collaborate with internal departments like compliance and legal, as well as external fiduciary, legal, and tax advisors.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required.
Approximately 3–6 years of relevant experience (e.g., financial services, estate administration, trust operations, or related field).
Foundational understanding of estate planning and administration concepts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across teams.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Advanced degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

Analyze wills and trust documents and provide clear summaries to help advisors understand key provisions.
Explain estate and trust concepts in a clear and practical way to colleagues and advisor teams.
Work with internal partners, including risk, compliance, and operations teams, to support smooth processes.
Support administrative processes following a client’s passing, including coordination with internal teams.
Communicate with external partners such as attorneys, tax advisors, and fiduciaries as part of ongoing case work.
Support internal projects, training efforts, and materials that enhance team effectiveness.
