About The Position

The Freelance Firm is a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals providing remote, on-demand support for legal projects. Due to increased demand, they are seeking a qualified, experienced, and dedicated South Florida Probate & Estate Litigation Attorney. This is a remote, contract-based position with expected hours of 20-30 per week, with the potential to transition into a full-time opportunity.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Florida
• Located in South Florida or willing to attend in-person hearings as needed
• Minimum of 5+ years of probate and litigation experience
• Probate litigation experience strongly preferred; general litigation experience will also be considered if accompanied by significant probate experience
• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and meet deadlines
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

Nice To Haves

• Experience with estate planning and/or guardianship matters
• Spanish language skills
• Experience across probate, estate planning, and guardianship matters
• Experience handling contested probate, trust, or fiduciary disputes
• Interest in a long-term relationship with the potential to transition into a full-time role

Responsibilities

• Handle probate litigation and estate-related disputes
• Assist with probate administration matters and related proceedings
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents
• Review case files and assist with litigation strategy
• Support active matters from inception through resolution
• Attend hearings and court appearances as needed
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure cases progress efficiently

Benefits
