Requirements

J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Iowa
Strong knowledge of probate, Medicaid, and trust administration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong willingness to network with other professionals
Empathy, patience, and professionalism in dealing with clients and team members
Ability to manage multiple client matters with attention to detail and deadlines
Proficiency with technology
Ability to follow proven firm procedures and policies

Nice To Haves

3+ years of experience in estate planning and elder law preferred
Experience with Real Estate and Corporate Law preferred

Responsibilities

Design customized estate plans that align with each client’s unique goals, family dynamics, and financial situation, including the preparation of wills, trusts, and other essential planning documents.
Advise clients on Medicaid planning, long-term care, and asset protection strategies
Represent clients in probate and estate administration matters
Stay up to date on changes in elder law and estate planning legislation
Participate in client education and community outreach events
Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure high-quality client service
