We are seeking an experienced Essbase Data Engineer with 5 to 7 years of overall IT experience and at least 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience working with Oracle Essbase. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Essbase development, support, and optimization, along with exposure to modern data engineering technologies such as Python, Spark, SQL, and cloud-based data platforms. This role will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and enhancing Essbase cubes, supporting business planning and reporting processes, and integrating Essbase data with enterprise data ecosystems.

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of overall IT experience.
• 1 to 2+ years of hands-on Oracle Essbase experience.
• Strong understanding of: Essbase Cubes, Calculation Scripts, Data Load Rules, Smart View, Essbase Security and Administration
• Good SQL skills.
• Experience in data analysis and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Python development experience.
• Apache Spark / PySpark.
• Data Engineering concepts (ETL/ELT).
• Cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Experience with Oracle EPM / Hyperion Planning.
• Exposure to data warehousing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize Oracle Essbase applications and cubes.
• Build and support Essbase calculation scripts, business rules, data load processes, and metadata management.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable Essbase solutions.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, data discrepancies, and system bottlenecks.
• Support periodic planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting cycles.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python or equivalent technologies.
• Work with data engineering teams to integrate Essbase with enterprise data platforms.
• Participate in data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities.
• Create technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and support teams.
