About The Position
As a part-time essay coach, you’ll work with a caseload of high school seniors via our online editing platform, coaching them through the essay-writing process as they complete their applications. In addition to identifying spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors, you’ll provide thoughtful, actionable feedback to encourage and inspire strong revisions. You’ll bring a personal approach to the process and lots of enthusiasm. You’ll work independently, and set your own schedule, while meeting internal deadlines.
Requirements
- B.A. in English, writing, or education (or significant editing experience in a different field).
- Ability to identify spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors.
- Ability to provide thoughtful, specific feedback utilizing a personal, conversational tone.
- Independent worker motivated by deadlines.
- Eagerness to contribute to a supportive hive of editors.
- Commitment to putting in full effort, even in part-time hours.

Benefits
- $25 per hour during a two-week provisional training period.
- Potential increase up to $30 per hour after training, based on experience and skill level.
