About The Position

SAIC is seeking an ESS Terminals Senior Systems Engineer to join their team in El Segundo, CA. This role is a sub-contractor position on the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract. The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex infrastructure, platform, and software systems supporting National Leadership Authority capabilities. This requires a deep understanding of system architecture, Protected SATCOM Terminal configurations, and security protocols. The role involves collaborating with external organizations to analyze system requirements and oversee their development, delivery, and implementation. Additionally, the engineer will lead technical projects and contribute to the development of best practices and documentation. Experience with Protected SATCOM Terminals, either operationally or in engineering and integration, is highly desired. The position is part of a Systems Engineering team focused on next-generation space communication systems for Space Force Military Satellite Communications, supporting Systems Engineering & Integration activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. The engineer will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians, and members of the USSF to provide acquisition management development and support. The MSEIT effort provides Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Space Force’s Space Systems Command, supporting the acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of system architecture.
  • Deep understanding of Protected SATCOM Terminal configurations.
  • Deep understanding of security protocols.
  • Experience in working with Protected SATCOM Terminals – either operationally or with prior experience on the engineering and integration side.
