The primary responsibility of the ESS Teacher is to provide support to the instructional process by developing ESS students' success in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily learning. This role performs instructional and related duties in accordance with District policies and terms of the teacher contract, while maintaining a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students. The ESS Teacher will provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment, employing special education strategies and techniques to improve the development of sensory and perceptual motor skills, language, cognition, and memory. This includes conferring with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs). The teacher will instruct students using various techniques, teach socially acceptable behavior, provide consultation to classroom teachers, and assess student progress. Additionally, the role involves establishing and enforcing rules for behavior, meeting with parents, scheduling team meetings, maintaining student records, developing lesson plans, communicating with parents, providing crisis intervention, and assisting with data collection for reports. The position is for the 2026-2027 school year and is located at Morton Elementary School.
