About The Position

Join our team as a highly skilled and detail-oriented Esri ArcGIS Administrator to own the health, stability, and performance of our enterprise ArcGIS ecosystem across DEV, QA, and PROD environments. You'll be the go-to person for keeping Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, and our SQL Server enterprise geodatabases running smoothly — from proactive monitoring and patch management to troubleshooting end-user incidents and coordinating releases through the SDLC. You'll also partner directly with Esri Technical Support and other vendors when issues need to go deeper. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional GIS or IT experience, including 3+ years directly supporting Esri ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, Web Adaptor).
  • Working knowledge of Python scripting for GIS automation and administrative tasks.
  • Experience with SQL Server in an enterprise geodatabase context.
  • Familiarity with web service types (map, feature, geoprocessing, image services).
  • Experience with incident/ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work across U.S. time zones as needed.
  • Must be able to work legally in the US without sponsorship.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug screening in accordance with applicable state law.
  • Background checks conducted after a conditional offer, in compliance with applicable law.

Nice To Haves

  • .NET development experience for scripting, tooling, or integrations.
  • Experience with ESRI Field Maps, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Familiarity with branch versioning and Utility Network concepts.
  • Understanding of SDLC and multi-environment change management processes.
  • Esri certifications (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise Administration).

Responsibilities

  • Support ArcGIS Enterprise components, including Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, and Web Adaptor.
  • Provide support for Esri Field Maps, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Assist with applying Esri patches and service packs in coordination with IT change management processes.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, roles, and item-level permissions within Portal/ArcGIS Online as applicable.
  • Configure and maintain web services (map, feature, geoprocessing, image services) published to ArcGIS Server.
  • Support new environment creation and stand-up as needed.
  • Troubleshoot database connections and branch versioning issues.
  • Assist with database maintenance coordination and index maintenance recommendations.
  • Support performance investigations and data integrity investigations.
  • Provide Utility Network validation support.
  • Monitor ArcGIS Server, Portal, and Data Store health, service availability, and response times across all environments.
  • Monitor dashboards/alerts to proactively identify degraded performance or service outages.
  • Perform certificate monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot interface job failures, remediating configuration-level and other simple issues while coordinating complex code-level issue repair with the development team.
  • Monitor recurring maintenance and interface jobs.
  • Validate successful completion of scheduled jobs and remediate failures within agreed response times.
  • Manage routine data requests.
  • Provide tiered support for end-user incidents related to GIS applications and data, including: Application errors or unavailability (web maps, dashboards, field apps, desktop ArcGIS Pro connections), Data quality, editing, or versioning/reconciliation issues, Access and permissions issues, Print, export, and geoprocessing service failures, Performance issues.
  • Log all incidents, root cause, and resolution in the designated ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow) or as otherwise directed.
  • Escalate to Esri Technical Support where issues require vendor-level investigation and help manage the case through resolution.
  • Support promotion of configuration, services, and data changes through the SDLC.
  • Support change control and release windows, including occasional after-hours deployment support for PROD and QA changes.
  • Support change sync across multiple DEV and QA environments.
  • Assist with coordination with Esri Technical Support and other software vendors, including opening support cases, providing diagnostic information, and implementing vendor recommendations.
