About The Position

The ESL Sleever and Variopac Operator is responsible for running and maintaining equipment such as palletizers, wrappers, forklifts, and other related equipment within the plant, with a primary focus on quality. The role requires effective teamwork, professional communication (verbal and written), and contributing to overall department production goals. The operator must maintain a clean and safe work environment and act in accordance with the company's core values. This includes following all required work-safe practices, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and adhering to safety protocols for confined spaces and chemical handling.

Requirements

Complete tasks in a safe & efficient manner to keep the process moving forward.
Follow Lock Out / Tag Out policies and other safety policies.
Perform all job duties and responsibilities listed above and (not listed) that will ensure safe and quality conformance to Shamrock Foods, Federal and State standards.
Be a team player assisting other operators for a safe, quality, and efficient process.
Be a successful operator understanding all procedures associated with this position.
Wear and use a company-provided radio to communicate operational and mechanical issues as they arise throughout your shift.
Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude.
Have the ability to work and maneuver in tight and awkward areas and positions.
Operate equipment at recommended speeds.
Communicate mechanical and operational defects as they arise.
Operate and clean equipment with a sense of urgency to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

Report all equipment malfunctions and accidents.
Be aware of surroundings and work with safe behaviors.
Wear all required PPE.
Ensure 100% compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices.
Closely monitor the palletizing process.
Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on palletizers as outlined in the manuals.
Perform other routine maintenance as assigned.
Communicate all issues related to maintaining and operating the palletizing equipment.
Make adjustments to equipment as needed to ensure efficient and effective operation with minimal downtime.
Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
Clean equipment, including hand cleaning.
Perform changeovers as dictated by the production schedule.
Order supplies to maintain equipment.
Follow Quality Assurance standards and specifications.
Perform line changeovers in a safe and efficient manner.
Monitor and maintain equipment.
Maintain a clean environment at all times.
Communicate with operators in a timely manner when issues arise.
Program new pallet patterns as new business arises.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
