About The Position

The LARE Institute is a Private Occupational School branch of American Training with state, global, and industry-recognized certifications in Allied Health Care, Business, Trade and Education Programs. It’s a school with a fun and “family-oriented” approach to learning. Our programs are taught by extraordinary instructors in state-of-the-art facilities – and we want you to join our team. This is a full-time teaching position, M-F, 8-4:30 pm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or at least two years previous related experience.
  • Able to present and communicate effectively in a variety of situations, including in front of a large group.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must maintain a positive and professional attitude.
  • Familiarity with varied cultures.
  • Knowledge of ESL teaching methods.
  • Ability to combine teaching of critical thinking skills with skills necessary for communication in English.
  • Time management and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish – English)

Responsibilities

  • Provide extraordinary customer service.
  • Present program information, individually or in groups, to interested parties.
  • Instruct Students in ESL English Grammar and Usage, Oral Communication, Reading, Writing, Listening, Survival Skills/English in the Workplace, Computer Skills, Vocational Exploration, Job Readiness English.
  • Implement WOW! Magic Principles when teaching.
  • Document daily attendance.
  • Implement curriculum, daily planning and correcting.
  • Take initiative in developing new and more effective ways to deliver services.
  • Maintain student files with program-related paperwork including but not limited to: Attendance records, Pre- and post-test results, Worksheets, tests and quizzes, Monthly progress reports.
  • Ensure all required reports are completed and submitted on-time.
  • Establish working relationship with LARE Case Manager regarding Students’ progress.
  • Develop, implement and modify curricula as needed.
  • Create lesson plans.
  • Attend relative education and teaching seminars.
  • Employ various fun and effective instructional and class management techniques.
  • Supervise students during program hours in all program-related activities.
  • Immediately report any concerning unusual behavior of a student to LARE Case Manager’s, Site Director or Director.
  • Assist Program Director with proposal writing, program-related activities and tasks as needed.
  • Attend colleague meetings.
  • Participate in WOW! Event preparation and cleanup.
  • Create a fun and entertaining experience in the classroom.
  • Communicate effectively in a variety of situations, including in front of a large group.
  • Relate well with all levels of personnel, individually and in a group.
  • Work as a productive member of a team.
  • Apply excellent interpersonal skills with Colleagues and Students.
  • Motivate, inspire, and empower Students to achieve their goals.
  • Demonstrate a professional image and attitude at all times.
  • Ensure that facility is kept clean at all times.
