About The Position

The ESE Assistant position is a Non-Instructional role supporting Special Education at Golden Gate Middle School. The role requires basic computer skills and involves providing assistance in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as readiness skills. Successful candidates must complete district-provided training in CPR/AED, First Aid, medication administration, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or TEACH training within a 6-month probationary period. CPR/First Aid require renewal every two years, and CPI/TEACH training must be kept current annually.

Requirements

  • Two years of study at an institution of higher education; or an Associate’s degree (or higher); or demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment (ParaPro Assessment) knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics, as appropriate and knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
  • Basic computer skills required (e.g., ability to use email).

  • Utilize basic computer skills, including email.
  • Complete CPR/AED, First Aid, medication administration, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or TEACH training within 6 months.
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid certifications (every two years) and CPI/TEACH training (annually).
