The Escrow Officer is the key to home ownership, acting as the human link between our process and people. This role involves reviewing contracts, ensuring paperwork is completed efficiently and accurately, working with agents and clients to keep the process moving forward, verifying titles, taxes, and loans, and ensuring all terms are met before funds or property change hands. The ideal candidate is a trusted consultant with a positive attitude, a problem solver with industry knowledge, a constant learner of rules and regulations, a people reader who can adapt to different personalities, and a highly organized multi-tasker capable of managing numerous contracts simultaneously under deadline pressure.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of escrow experience, including both front-end and back-end experience.
  • Notary public and escrow officer licenses as per local regulatory requirements (e.g., Texas requirements from TLTA and Texas Department of Insurance).
  • Technical knowledge of the closing process.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to keep all parties updated and resolve issues.
  • Adaptability to new workflows and procedures, as the role will oversee escrow operations across multiple entities.

Nice To Haves

  • Continuing education courses as required.
  • Experience in Texas real estate transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the intricacies of the contract from beginning to end, ensuring timely, efficient, and error-free closing.
  • Verify all paperwork is complete to ensure timely and correct escrow closing.
  • Work with lenders and underwriters to ensure all details are handled for funding and completing transactions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with essential industry players such as agents, attorneys, lenders, surveyors, and government agencies to smoothly manage transactions.
  • Build confidence and trust with new agents, create opportunities to market the business, and retain agents through white-glove service.
  • Train escrow assistants, delegate tasks, audit work, answer questions, and provide direction.
  • Be present at closing to make it a positive and memorable experience for agents and buyers.
