About The Position

As an escrow officer, you are the key to home ownership and the human link between our process and people. You will be responsible for reviewing contracts, following instructions, ensuring all associated paperwork is completed efficiently and accurately, and working with agents and their clients to keep the process moving forward. This includes verifying that titles are clean, taxes are paid, and loans are funded. Ultimately, you will assure that no funds or property will change hands until all terms have been carried to completion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two to three years of escrow experience, both front- and back-end experience
  • Notary public and escrow officer licenses
  • Technical knowledge of closing process
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong written and verbal skills to keep agents, buyers, sellers, and all other parties up to date with the process and work with them to resolve issues
  • Continuing education courses as required

Responsibilities

  • Manage the intricacies of the contract from beginning to end, ensuring that it is closed in a timely, efficient, and error-free manner.
  • Verify all paperwork is complete so that escrow closes on time and correctly.
  • Work with lenders and underwriters to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to fund and complete transactions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with essential industry players – agents, attorneys, lenders, surveyors, and government agencies – to smoothly manage transactions.
  • Reach out to new agents, earn their confidence and trust, and create opportunities to market the business; retain agents by providing them with white-glove service.
  • Train escrow assistants to open opportunities for advancement; delegate, audit work, answer questions, and give direction.
  • Be present at closing and make it a positive, memorable experience for agents and buyers.
