About The Position

We are seeking a Technical Analyst for the Mining & Metals team, based in Winnemucca, Nevada. The purpose of this role is to collect, study and analyze project and GBU ES&H data, to assist in the development and implementation of improvement efforts to support various ES&H functions in the areas of incident prevention, learning and development, Craft Based Leadership (CBL) and Six Sigma. Duties require accuracy, judgment, initiative, and understanding of relevant ES&H processes, automation tools and associated supporting computer software.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Technical knowledge of computer-based training development software.
  • Technical knowledge of Adobe Suite desktop publishing software, SharePoint web developer, FrontPage programming code, and Flash incorporation into training products.
  • Good knowledge of computer artwork and web design packages.
  • Knowledge of learning and development systems, applications of both ES&H and automation methods, and application of computers to associated process improvement tasks.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to ES&H learning and development needs.
  • Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication and in preparing clear and comprehensive correspondence.
  • General knowledge of writing and producing training, marketing, and communication tools.
  • Has working familiarity with Bechtel’s environmental, safety and health processes and procedures. (Internal candidates or former Bechtel)

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) programs and ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving ES&H policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Maintain and analyze ES&H data, including incidents, audits, assessments, and corrective actions to support continuous improvement.
  • Support the use of ES&H software systems and digital tools.
  • Lead or participate in risk assessments, mitigation planning, and monitoring activities.
  • Prepare reports, communications, and documentation for program execution and records management.
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and preparation of investigation reports.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce hazards and strengthen safety performance.
  • Participate in employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Provide regulatory guidance, technical advice, and ES&H support to field and office personnel.
